We are a community that promotes a spirit of camaraderie…
About
Hawthorne Neighborhood Association aims to promote a spirit of camaraderie among the residents of the area, to provide opportunities for cooperation among these residents in projects which are in the interest of the community, and to provide one voice in expressing ideas and opinions on matters which affect the citizens of the community.
Who we are…and are not:
We are residents looking out for each other.
We are a voluntary group of people who focus on community, events and safety.
We are not an HOA- we do not manage residents or public areas of our neighborhood.

Hawthorne Neighborhood History.
With a large industrial section- next to 53 businesses, Brigham Park, and Hawthorne Elementary School at its heart, Hawthorne is a convenient neighborhood for living, learning and working in eastern Madison. Hawthorne is surrounded by four major veins: North Fair Oaks Avenue, East Washington Avenue, Hwy 51 and Hwy 30. Residents take two or three turns and quickly find themselves in Downtown Madison (about 15 minutes west), Milwaukee (slightly over an hour east) or any number of nearby hotspots. Another point of interest is the affordability of the homes. Proximity to the airport for out-of-town trips, plus the negligible commute in each direction, make Hawthorne a desirable suburb.
